Having gained a masters degree in Social Anthropology from The University of Edinburgh, Katie has always been interested in group dynamics and what makes people tick. She has an ability to put people at ease and get them bouncing ideas off each other which makes for a lively and interactive atmosphere in the training room.
Katie has a decade of experience in training and development which started when she was asked to run courses for graduate trainees at Fidelity Investments. From there she worked as an Area Trainer for First Great Western Rail, training Customer Service, Assertiveness, Conflict Management and Communication Skills. She also spent three years as a Trainer at The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy and two years responsible for training and line managing a team of call centre staff for a travel and interpreting helpline.
Katie has spent the last 6 years as a freelance Training Consultant training Business writing, Management courses, Interpersonal Communication, Customer Services, Conflict Management, Assertiveness and Stress Management. She delivers Management courses for the Institute of Leadership and Management and has undergone training with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
Katie is married with two young ch ildren and loves water-skiing, snow skiing and swimming.
