He/Him
James is our Senior Associate Consultant heading our HR Services at Potential Plus. James specialises in delivering multiple engagement, HR and change programmes concurrently, across large international businesses, where exemplary customer service delivery is key.
His specialisms are in Recruitment, Employee Engagement and Change. He ensures that all stakeholders are involved and informed through effective internal communication, and that the outputs of strategies and programmes are embedded to maximise business performance through effective project management and ongoing communication.
His credentials in the field of Resourcing are second to none and below are two recent examples of recruitment focussed work he has completed for clients:
Working with a Technology client, James reviewed their approach to recruitment across the UK, created new attraction campaigns and revamped their approach to interviewing based on the candidate experience. He also trained the hiring managers in interviewing processes, including interview skills training and candidate experience mapping, a course which he designed specifically for the client.
Working with a Transport client James reshaped the company’s approach to recruitment, setting up a volume recruitment campaign, reviewing and refreshing all recruitment processes and training all managers in interviewing skills and the new recruitment processes.
James was formerly Group Head of Resourcing for FirstGroup plc (circa 110,000 employees) and lead an evolution in moving the UK business from a paper-based recruitment process, to a totally online function, setting up a centralised recruitment team in Swindon from scratch, who not only ran the recruitment processes but also acted as a direct sourcing recruitment search function for the business. This recruitment model was then replicated in the USA in the three divisions of Student, Greyhound and Transit. He also worked with the L&D team to develop a new training programme for resourcing, focussing on upskilling managers in the full recruitment cycle, which was then delivered across the estate.
