Well the world is going mad with the conflicts building momentum, agitators agitating, dictators dictating and no-one listening or being reasonable with global solutions. The news goes from local stabbings, murders and then on to the subject of WW3 being a possibility. Then we talk about the Post Office scandal, the price of food increasing and ‘business as usual’. What a contrast!

I went for a couple of walks over Hengistbury Head with Sandra and Reggie (the dog). The sun was out, the view was amazing and the feeling of calm and appreciation, in the moment, was fantastic. It’s hard to believe that other people are not experiencing the same thing, when it is available world wide, in some shape or form! It is easy to forget the hardship of others, go to the gym and enjoy life as it is.

I like to moan about politicians, politics, the economy, how we mismanage our Publics services and other big relevant topics, but I feel helpless, and know, I don’t impact any of these with my moaning. I have simple solutions for complex problems, that I don’t know much about.

One thing I do, is I appreciate what I have, right now. The walks were another reminder how amazing this planet can be, but the downside is that certain people are hell bent on ruining it all. Why can’t we agree that there is a bigger picture to focus on “Saving the planet” and set some rules that we all agree on. Remove politics and religion and let’s build a better world, not just a better UK or USA – let’s stop being self absorbed and greedy.

If only it was that easy!

I am sure that, more intelligent people than me, are working on solutions right now, behind closed doors. I feel confident in our future and how we have the capability to undo the damage, work together and agree better, more robust, standards. We have to believe that we, the human race, are wise enough to put things right.

I am working with a client at the moment delivering programmes to sustain and improve their culture. Small changes in mindset, behaviour, teamwork and collaboration need to be lead from the top down and, the bigger the company, the longer it takes. That makes me question how easy would it be to do that for a village, town, city or country, let alone the world!

Like anything, it starts with small steps and a will to change. It builds momentum, gathers pace and eventually, it ‘feels’ different. People are doing things differently and we start to establish the new way of working but success takes commitment and determination, it’s very rarely a straight line to success.

What could you do to make a difference? Because, right now, we need to gather positivity, work together and take the small steps to build a better world, for future generations.
