The weekend was a very moving experience, once again. I don’t think it matters if you are ex-military or not, we all have connections to the conflicts of the past, in some way. With the troubles in the world today being very real, it does make you stand and think “Why?”. It seems like a needless waste of life, driven by greed, politics, religion or some other senseless reason.
I appreciate there are more ‘things’ going on than we probably know, or would like to know, but is does seem like a we’ve been here before and should have learnt our lessons from the past.
The appreciation of living here in the UK is highlighted every time I turn the news on and see the devastation, pain and suffering people are experiencing. I sit in my home, watch the rain pour down with my cup of tea and I can’t begin to imagine living in and around Gaza, it’s so sad.
So, whilst I moan about our leaders, politicians, rules and how we do things here in good old ‘Blighty’, it’s not that bad. That doesn’t mean that it couldn’t be better, of course it could! We need to strive for improvements, continuously, and that is in all aspects of life, as you all know.
Business does not stand still, life does not stand still and technology is advancing at an amazing speed, the future looks crazy, but exciting. I can’t keep up with things! My kids are adaptable and seem to learn and change quicker than me now, and the grandchildren are picking things up at lightening speed. When it comes to the technology side of things, they are way ahead of me, which is useful and frustrating at the same time. So, all in all, life is good.
How are things for you? What should you be grateful for?
If you were to score yourself 1-10 (10 being the best it could be) how would you rate these areas of your life?
- Relationships
- Family
- Health
- Fitness
- Physical Appearance
- Social
- Emotional
- Work
- Finances
- Spiritual
- Wellbeing
Now, ask yourself these questions:
- If you were to pick one to improve, which would it be and why?
- How would you feel if you improved this?
- What will you do to improve this?
- When will you do it?
A friend of mine, was out of shape, overweight and didn’t like exercise. He liked a drink and enjoyed his food and the social side of life. He started running recently and achieved ‘couch to 10k’ in 16 weeks. He feels fantastic, has a new lease of life and looks amazing. He took his time and built things up slowly, one step at a time, literally, but he kept going.
I trust you have got something that could do with a ‘degree’ of attention that you could take small steps to improve.
Let me know how you get on…..
Have a great week.
