After our family holiday and the following Bank holiday weekend, I am back in action. It was great to spend 10 days in Malta with my family and we really did rest and recuperate. It wasn’t a busy holiday and we didn’t do loads of activities (Like we normally do) and it was perfect.
Even though we were ‘relaxing’ we still visited the gym, most days, and did a lot of walking, but, we ate and drank a bit more than normal too, so a balanced approach, in my opinion!
I did look at emails and take a couple of calls, so didn’t park work all together, but fortunately the majority of things were taken care of by the team. I remember the days when it was just me running the business and each holiday I’d be connected and on the computer so didn’t really switch off at all. I’d try and sneak on my emails before people woke up, when they were busy or just before bed time, but, I’d be thinking of work all day.
Sometimes that is what’s required, and, I’m sure some of you have experienced the same thing – trying to please everyone but not really giving 100% to anything. It’s frustrating and ineffective so I try and avoid that situation now, although it does happen now and then. 😩
With 16 weeks until the Christmas break, I am planning on being more prepared, so I can enjoy the time off. Fortunately, it does go really quiet for the learning and development sector, in terms of delivery, which is fine if you are ready for it. My focus for October, November and, early, December will be on looking for projects to support in 2024.
Currently, we have a couple of proposals out for some Leadership development programmes, some interest in more Insights Discovery sessions and meetings booked to discuss requirements for clients in 2024. We also have work booked in, for delivery, this year, but we can’t relax and ‘take our foot off the gas’. We still need to be proactive and network to build momentum for next year.
So, if you have any development requirements coming up, that you’d like to discuss, please feel free to get in touch. We would be happy to listen to your ideas and plans to see if we can support you in any way. We have a great team!
This is MM 483 and it’s the first time I have done anything ‘sales related’ in these messages. I realised that I have never asked this group, if you have anything we can help you with. Am I mad or stupid not to have asked before? Answers on a postcard please!
