I have a dilemma!
I am supposed to be going to Spain soon, I have the flights and accommodation booked but now realise how much it’s going to cost. The tests have taken a cheap, short, break away and changed it into an expensive 4 days. If it was just me and my wife, it’d be ok but I have my 2 Sons are also joining us and neither of them are ‘double jabbed’.
If Boris also changes Spain to ‘Amber plus’ (In tonight’s announcement) we will all have to isolate when we return home. When did organising a holiday become so difficult? Everyone was looking forward to getting away to relax, spend time by the pool and enjoy the sun, but, I might have to re-arrange the flights and just accept it’s not going to happen, this year. It’s disappointing but we may have to make alternative arrangements.
I know we are not the only ones facing these decisions, and, like most other people, this is not the first trip to be cancelled due to CV-19. I want to stay safe and follow the rules but I can’t get my head around the price increase, for such a short trip.
Anyway let’s be positive, it gives me more time to save and make sure we get everything sorted for next year! This will mean I can make sure all of the kids are available and book time off work so we can have a family holiday together again. Another positive thing is that the 2 older ‘children’ will be financially independent and, so, they will be able to contribute to the costs, fantastic!
Every cloud has a silver lining…
I am still planning to take the time away from the computer and my wife will still have the time off work, so there is a strong possibility that we will go away somewhere more locally (In the UK). Time to start planning things and looking at other options, which is different, but still exciting.
There are loads of places in the UK I’d like to visit so now is my chance.
