Over the weekend there was some brilliant sport to watch on TV. With Liverpool winning again, Bournemouth getting a well needed win and Spurs turning over Man City, I couldn’t complain. It does bewilder me that, even with some of the best players available, some teams are not performing at their full potential.

I saw a, disappointing, England rugby team get smashed by France and they had fantastic talent on the pitch – I was expecting something different.

Human beings are amazing, and, confusing!

Having seen a variety of tributes to Kobe Bryant, I saw something that I think everyone, wanting success, would be inspired by. He was an amazing athlete and his secret to success was everything we already know. Click here to watch one

Some things I picked up on, are:

  • Be determined
  • Work hard 
  • Stay focussed and motivated
  • Plan things
  • Go the extra mile
  • Have a great team around you
  • Practise, practise, practise
  • Always strive to get better
  • Do the basics – well
  • When you want to give up, give another 10%

If I was to measure myself against that, limited list, I know I have areas that I could do with improving. How about you?

Even at the weekend, I nearly stayed in bed instead of getting out on my bike, but eventually, I forced myself to go out. Why did it take so much effort?

The simple set of success strategies, we all know, are so tough to follow and that’s what made Kobe, and people like him, so amazing. I admire successful people who can balance their lives, put the time and effort into the right things and achieve fantastic results.
