MM309

So, another social weekend delayed this weeks MM. I love it when a plan comes together, the restraints are removed and you can just let your hair down.

I met up with a couple of RAF mates of mine, which was planned some time ago. It doesn’t always run smoothly, as we all have our own agendas and want to do certain things, but this time it was stress free. Friday night my Mum and Sister came around for a chat and stayed for a take away, Saturday morning I did my group bike ride followed by cooking brunch for my mates, I then went to watch my Son play football and, after that, I watched the late kick off – Newcastle vs. Brighton. What a nice day!

The evening was spent at a 40th Birthday celebration where we all got together to reminisce the ‘good old days’. We shared the same stories, slightly more embellished, and had a fantastic evening together.

On the Sunday, it was my mates 65th Birthday, which is why we organised the get together in the first place, so we met at lunch time and celebrated into the evening. Once again, it was nice spending time together.

I don’t know about you, but I have so many friends on FaceBook that I am connected with, but only a couple that I actually, physically, meet up with. I like the fact I can keep in touch with friends and make comments, remarks and have a bit of banter with them without moving from my front room! I am, however, guilty of sometimes saying “We should get together soon” and then, not actually do anything, so we never meet up.

So, from now on, I will not make any empty promises and if I do say “Let’s meet up” I will put a date in the diary and make it happen. There are a few people that I haven’t seen for a while and really need to reconnect with, before it’s too late!

Who do you keep putting off?

Do you need to put a bit more effort into your friendships?
