MM293

I, like you, get quite a few emails during the day. It’s not unmanageable but I do sometimes get fed up, of the useless, unhelpful intrusions to my day. The advertising, marketing and general, product based emails, that I receive, do get an ‘unsubscribe’ click at times.

The emails, I do like, are from clients, friends / family, and our associate network. They all add some value such as information I like to hear, saying hello and touching base or even inviting me to events. I had an email recently from a friend and associate that I work with, inviting me to a seminar he is delivering in London. It is an event I would love to attend but I already have commitments to do something else, on that day, so I thought I’d extend the invitation to my network on the MM just in case it would add value for you.

It is called: Strategies for Success – Creating Your Independence Day – click here for more information. It’s good to invest in yourself and attend workshops to ‘reboot’ the information in your head, and possibly, tweak your thinking. The world is a fast paced, forever changing place, so nice to take some ‘time out’ and get some fresh input now and then.

There are so many ways of getting information, it’s amazing. Technology is amazing. I sometimes get confused and bewildered when updates happen and changes take place with products I use.

With the iCloud and software moving along so fast, it’s nearly impossible to master something before it’s changed, then you have to re-learn or adapt. Mostly, things change and make improvements to the product or software, and the experience is enhanced, but there are times when I wish it would stay the same and I didn’t have to re-learn.

Last year we moved all of our accounting to a digital platform, using a product that I had to learn. My accountants helped, Youtube was helpful and friends, already using this product, offered immediate support. It was not something I wanted to do but I knew we would have to do it at some point. My motivation was low which is why it’s taken so long to convert 100% – I was the problem!

Have you ever been the one blocking progress? Have you been the one saying “Why change it, it’s not broken?” or “We’ve always done it this way, why change?”

What could you do to keep ahead of the curve, lead the way forward, or even, make the changes for everyone else to follow? I wish I had identified the need and invented the accounting software that everyone will be using soon.
