Since the long spell of great weather, it’s seemed like I’ve been in holiday mode. Don’t get me wrong, I have actually worked as normal and done what I have needed to do, but, I have also taken time out to enjoy the sun and meet people for a catch up using the beach instead of a hotel. I have spent time relaxing, sitting in the back garden reading a book, because the sun was out.

I have literally put time aside to reflect and chill out, just because the weather has been better. I feel so much more relaxed and refreshed.

How has it affected you? Have you noticed you are making different choices?

I am looking forward to some rain and, I suppose, that’s the way things are. If you have too much of something it becomes ‘the norm’ and the appreciation for it, drops. I was speaking to one of our foster kids and he’d mentioned how nice it would be to have loads of money. This brought up the conversation about appreciating what you do have and how much more it means when you have had to put some effort into saving for something you want. I know most people would welcome a big lottery win but I do feel it could ruin certain things.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to test the theory and be very rich, I know I could do good things with loads of money, but it might take the fun out of some things in life.

I do take some things in my life for granted, simple things like electricity, hot running water and even the internet. When one of these services drops or is interrupted, it’s annoying and I suddenly realise how much I have come to rely on them. In some places, they would be a luxury and life changing, which brings me back into reality of how much we do have available to us.

I am going to enjoy what great weather we have left and I will appreciate the rain when it does return, as will many other people too.

Have a great week and enjoy everything you do have…….
