Well the weather has turned towards Autumn and the wind and rain. You have to be grateful that it is all manageable though.

I still got out on the mountain bike at the weekend, even though I had to take a waterproof just in case, my Son still played football and there are no floods or any dangerous high winds.

We could spend time moaning about not having enough sunshine but then I think we would miss the point of living somewhere like the UK, as a choice.

If I really craved for more sun and if the rain really depressed me, I think I’d move to a different Country.

It is, sometimes, a little inconvenient not being able to predict the weather weeks in advance. It puts pressure on trying to organise BBQ’s, camping weekends and, maybe some other events, but I think it means we always have to have a plan ‘B’

It just takes a bit more thought, planning and maybe a dash of innovation.

With the hurricane Irma doing so much damage and threatening lives in Florida, I can’t imagine that anyone is complaining about our British weather at the moment. I appreciate it does get a bit mad, at times, but nothing in comparison to what other Countries have to deal with.

Having spent 9 days in Croatia on holiday, where the sun was baking hot, I couldn’t wait to get back to England and experience something different. I don’t think that I could put up with just having sun all of the time, how tedious would that be? Variety and uncertainty means we have to be adaptable and creative and make the most of the situation.

Having been in the Royal Air Force, people assume I like order and structure, and I do with some things, but the reason I am a self employed is because I like freedom and variety, with a large helping of autonomy!

Ok, so sometimes it’s not a nice experience, I have laid awake at night worrying about paying the bills and I’ve experienced panic when there has been nothing booked in the diary. Those are the times where a structured job would be nice and a regular income would be welcome, but would also come at a cost.

Life is all about balance. Sun, rain, laughter, tears, work and play, it’s what makes life great.

When was the last time you stood in the rain and just enjoyed getting soaked through, like you did when you were a kid?

This week I am going to put my “enjoy everything for what it is’ filter on. I am sure this week will be much more fun than normal….

Why not join in?
