I was co-delivering a 1 hour workshop last Friday for a client and, whilst the group were in their break out rooms, I got talking to my co-presenter. We discussed holidays and, as she worked for a cruise company, she shared some of her plans and previous cruise holidays. One dream she mentioned she has, is to go on a 99 day world cruise.
I never even knew this existed and, having spoken to her about it, it is now on my bucket list. I will have to go on a shorter cruise to start off with, just to see if I like the atmosphere and being on a ship for that length of time, so that has been added to my ‘shorter’ term goals for 2023, I just need to convince my wife first.
There are so many things I’d like to do and so many things I haven’t done yet, it can be quite depressing to think I won’t get to experience everything in my life time. The good thing is, I am going to have a blast trying to fit in as much as possible, whilst balancing all of the other aspects of my life.
The 99 day world cruise is on the list but it is not a high priority as there are too many other things to do before I can invest 99 days of my life to just being on holiday. Although, as it stands, I could also work from the cabin and have a working holiday. Do the same as I am currently doing here, deliver virtual, on-line workshops. It doesn’t matter where I am, just as long as I have a good internet connection and a space to work from. Now, there’s a thought, it could be an enjoyable balance.
By just writing this MM, it has made me look for solutions to do something I might have immediately dismissed with a comment like “I can’t spend 99 days on holiday” I now have some research to do and, although it won’t something for a few years, it could actually work. I have other things to consider, like leaving the kids alone for that long and Sandra (My wife) being able to get the time off work!
It’s on the list now, so let’s see what happens!
If you were to make a list of everything you want to do, what would be on it? Write the longest list you can, without dismissing anything, and then make some plans.
Anything is possible, dare to dream!
